Village Experience, Kerala / 3 hours / View on mapMuziris Tour, an introduction to the many faiths and cultures of the Malabar Coast. Muziris is the name of an ancient port city on the Kerala coast. Enriched by trade contacts, Muziris became a melting pot of world cultures. It is located about 10 km from Kodungalloor. It was the hub of various cultures and religions and legend has it that India’s first church was established here by St. Thomas the apostle. The port was inundated probably by a huge tsunami that altered the geography of Muziris, around the middle of the 14th century. Muziris was then successively ruled by the Portuguese, the Dutch and the British. Note: Monday is holiday for all the monuments and sunday holiday for handloom weaving factory.
